The worship and arts ministry is an important part of what takes place at Valley Shepherd, and a great way for you to connect with both the church family and our community.
The Worship Choir
The Worship Choir leads in worship and provides special music in our Morning Worship Service. The Choir is open to anyone, 15 years and older, who loves to sing and has a desire to help lead our congregation in worship. Our main rehearsal time is Wednesday night at 6:45 p.m. We also meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. to go over congregational music and our special with the orchestra.
The church orchestra accompanies worship weekly in our 10:45 a.m. service. The orchestra is open to individuals who love to play and want to use their talent for the Lord. The orchestra is asked to learn and perform music pieces in a rather short time frame and thus experience is recommended. The orchestra meets weekly at 8:45 A.M. on Sunday morning to rehearse. Also, the Orchestra meets once a month on Saturday mornings to work on special pieces for Worship.
Worship Team Vocalists
Worship Team Vocalists help lead our congregation in worship. They also sing special music on occasion. Practice for Worship Teams is held with the orchestra on Sunday mornings at 8:45 a.m.
Tech Arts Team
The Tech Arts Team is a vital part of what takes place every Sunday morning at Valley Shepherd. God has blessed us with some wonderful sound, lighting and video equipment with which to reinforce our worship. Opportunities are available to those 14 years of age and older to work on the sound board, video camera, video mixer, computer media, and the lighting board. Training and support are given for all areas of the Tech Arts Ministry.
Valley Shepherd has a long history of utilizing drama to enhance Christmas and Easter Presentations. We are anxious to begin using short dramatic sketches in our worship. If you are interested in participating in the ongoing ministry, please contact Pastor Stephen.
More Than Just Music
Members of the worship arts department have ministered in and to our community through worship services in the state prison, the military chapel, and in retirement centers and care facilities. We have also participated in the Meridian Lights Parade. We are always looking for other opportunities to minister in our community.
If you are interested in any of these areas of ministry, please contact contact Pastor Stephen List at 888-2141 or firstname.lastname@example.org
